If
you are looking for tranquility, long hiking and bicycle tours in the landscapes
of the Ore
Mountains, which havn‘t been overrun by mass tourism yet, or would like to
visit ancient
castles and churches or experience old customs being practised, this is just the
right place to
go. Apart from a splendid landscape and the traditional christmas markets of the
Ore
Mountains, our surroundings have a lot more to offer. In terms of recreational
sport for
example, there is a ski lift in the village, running even at night, and
cross-country skitracks
as well as numerous indoor and outdoor swimming pools for summer and winter. A
vivid village life offers lots of variety, such as ski jumping or annual
festivities, which are
a
great experience in every season.
In
our little mining village, there is also the exhibition mine Pöhla with one of
the largest tin
chambers in Europe and a nature trail that, crossing several villages, leads
until Rittersgrün.
Several concerts a year take place in the caves, which are an experience for
everyone due to
their special venue. You can also find traditional craftsmen and women of the
Ore
Mountains,
such as carvers, carpenters and pillow lace makers in close vicinity.
